Version 2 of the NO2 algorithm
The tropospheric NO2 columns are derived with the same basic algorithm
for satellite observations from GOME, SCIAMACHY, OMI and GOME-2.
Currently all data sets are being reprocessed with a new version of the algorithm.
The improvements compared to version 1.0x are:
- The (TOMS/GOME) albedo database has been replaced by the OMI and MERIS databases
- A new AMF calculation has been included
- Correction of the surface height calculation
- 1st order correction of the weekly cycle in the anthropogenic NOx emissions
- The number of NOx tracers on the CTM has been increased.

Version 2.1 for GOME-2
The original version 2.0 data of GOME-2 contained some problems and has been
replaced by version 2.1.
Note that version 2.1 of GOME-2 is exactly the same as version 2.0 for the other instruments.
The following issues have been solved by the upgrade to version 2.1:
- Mismatch between cloud information and slant columns has been corrected.
- Unique tracknames have been given in the data file.
- Time of observation is given with a precision of 0.01 second.
Version 2.3 for GOME, SCIAMACHY and GOME-2
The original version 2.0 data of GOME and SCIAMACHY contained some problems and has been
replaced by version 2.3.
The following issues have been solved by the upgrade to version 2.3:
- An accidently mirrored azimuth angle in the AMF calculation for all instruments has been corrected for this version.
- Unique tracknames have been given in the data files of SCIAMACHY.
- Time of observation is given with a precision of 0.01 second. (for GOME and SCIAMACHY)
